Rex Grossman and Lovie Smith...

you suck!

first blog this year...

yet its feb already...

it's true wat the Chinese proverb say...

萬事起頭難...

so lets start on a bright note...

eating ice cream after playing basketball is a bliss...

but back to business...

a program on BBC 2 called "Mortgaged to the Yanks"...

it shows some of more revealing side of history after WWII...

it's about how WWII bankrupted Britain...

and that Britain desperately need to look  for help somewhere...

it showed how Americans was not willing to give an aid to Britain (5billion dollars, 54billion for present)...

but rather a thick ropes attached 50 years commercial loan (3.75billion at 2%)...

which is quite fitting to what John called them, Shylock...

Britain and America were great allies in a war...

but i (americans) will do f**k all to help you, get lost...

and they felt they done their bits for the war...

(
yea rite, you only got involved more, which was at a very very late stage, because the japs bloody bombed pearl habour...

before that, you were quite happily seeing all the other nations falling to the nazis and doing nothing...
)

even when it was in the term of a loan...

it was having trouble passing in the congress...

they even called Britain the "world leader of communism" because the labour was in office...

(nowadays, the labour party is anything but communism, if you are rich, they welcome you with open arms)

not exactly the great ally that they teach in the textbooks...

so how did it pass the bloody congress, who was in disillusion about not getting suck into another war...

well, Stalin became more powerful...

but still then, the threat of bankruptcy was still imminent...

why?

because the ropes attached in the loan...

after the loan, no one wanted pounds any more...

Bank of England traded most of its dollar reserve away already...

and if there is no dollar reserve left...

Britain would in deed go bankrupt, which was what the loan was suppose to prevent bankruptcy...

so who bail out Britain...

guess and be surprised...

it was Stalin...

Stalin offered an AID, I repeat an AID to Britain...

I know, I know, Stalin is considered evil to some of you...

but at least he wasn't as stingy as the bloody Americans...

guess who decided to step after Stalin?

the bloody Americans, who is so f**king scared of communism spreading across the continent...

an aid of 3billion...

i dunno about you, but i formed my own opinion of america already...

and this knowledge only strengthen it...

so much for special diplomatic relationship with the f**king americans...

and there is a similar one which exist now, Blair Bush...

and this makes me worry quite a lot...

all in all, there is not much difference on american policy then and now...

*cough. iraq

why don't they teach these history in schools?

why do we feel the need to always portrait the americans as the good guys?

why trust them?

they would only act when they need to safe their own skins anyway...

and not before all of you getting f**ked over first...

no wonder history in school is such a turnoff...

teach me what i need to know...

not what they want us to think...

p.s. the loan was only paid off in 2006, and also, fuck off Blair, and if Gordon is also american's bitch, he can fuck off as well...

statistically...

so...

how does common hk ppls do statistic...

undoubtedly, the most popular method is the Billboard method...

the origin of this method is unknown...

although there is generally a lack of statisticians research in this specific area...

but it remains one of the favourite ways for ppls to generate a representative sample...

this method can be applied to many areas, but it does have its limitations...

it is mainly used for getting a sample of the population and find calculating the statistics needed...

the Billboard method is understood to be taught by older generation to the younger generation...

education of such in school is almost unheard of...

but yet it remains a robust and trusted way to be representative of the matter depending on the person who computed it...

A Breakdown of the Billboard method

in the model of the Billboard method, it does not explicitly describe the population...

it does not define the size of the population, but there is a common tolerance of the range which each individual can make assumption...

for the simplistics, the population can be assumed to be 10...

as this assumption would simplify the calculation to find the percentage of the groups...

but in general, the size of the population is assumed to be the number of ppls on a normal (normal as in distribution) street on a normal (again, normal as in distribution) day...

there is another crucial detail of the model...

it is important to remember to include the movement of the ppls in the populating the normal street...

the "fluid dynamics" of the population in the end will affect greatly the overall result...

the "fluid dynamics" of ppls in itself is another massive field of research which could sustain many thesis...

and it is also an art that, i believe, many are not competent at...

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
an example merely for demonstration purpose, take MK...

if ppls can themselves calculate the optimum distribution of the population...

then there wouldn't be such a overcrowding in MK, resulting in a very low fluidity on the normal street...

but we would not go into details in the field of population fluid dynamics here...

it maybe a topic which we could revisit in the future...
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

back to the Billboard method...

to be continued...

not quite 12 o'clock yet...

just watched Cinderella Man...

the beginning dragged on a bit...

but apart from that...

the movie was a masterpiece...

it was gripping, it was engaging, and it was touching...

it has you begging for it to reveal it's plot...

another great work from the partnership of Ron Howard and Russell Crowe...

looking at the cv of Ron Howard, which has some amazing films...

Cinderella Man
A Beautiful Mind
Apollo 13

those are great films to make any list...

but...

it will blow your mind to comprehend that he also directed THE DA VINCI CODE!!!

how, how, how, how did it go so wrong??

that film was an disaster to say the least...

it was boring and mundane...

the interactions between the actors were as stiff as the queen's back...

and he is gonna make Angels & Demons as well...

maybe he should get Russell Crowe to play Robert Langdon instead of Tom Hanks...

but Hanks worked with Howard before, so that may not have been the problem...

failing that, at least he should get Hanks to cut off that gross haircut he had...

would seriously recommend others to watch it...
